Tommy Steele Faced Peace, Tranquility Across Lake Erie by WOWSA

The 24.3 km swim took Steele 11 hours 50 minutes, observed by the 
Lake Erie Open Water Swimming Association.

"We could see the American coast from Canada," said Steele.
"The water was glass at the start. No waves." The tranquility continued for 17 miles before the winds and surface turbulence picked up.
