Chris Burke Hits A Grand Slam En Route To Triple Crown by WOWSA

Ron Collins announced that Chris Burke completed his open water swimming Grand Slam with his fast crossing of the English Channel in 10 hours 44 minutes yesterday.

With his Catalina Channel crossing and his Manhattan Island Marathon Swim last year and his previous Tampa Bay Marathon Swim, Burke completed both theTriple Crown of Open Water Swimming and the Grand Slam.

Th3 52-year-old contractor and dedicated masters swimmer from St. Petersburg, Florida has hit his stride. The former collegiate swimmer had to wait to achieve his Triple Crown and Grand Slam until his children were all grown. "I could not have done it when my kids were young. It takes a lot of time, but fortunately my wife is very understanding and supportive.
