Yakushima Open Water Swim (屋久島オープンウォータースイミング)was held in heavy rain, but the precipitation did not damper the annual 1 km and 2.5 km ocean swim off the southern island of Kyushu, Japan.
Yakushima is a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization designated World Heritage Centre known for its tranquility amid 1000+ year old cedar trees and clear ocean waters.
