Diana Corbin swam in high school in Southern California, but it she was inspired by a movie about swimming the English Channel to get her to try a crossing of theCatalina Channel.
After completing a 17 hour 9 minute crossing of the Catalina Channel from Santa Catalina Island to the California mainland in 2013 while being escorted by paddlers Bob Brantley, Ralph Lufkin and Don Rasky, she decided to commemorate her achievement.
