Canadian psychiatrist Marilyn Korzekwa swam through the night to complete her two-way crossing of the Northumberland Strait in Canada.

Dr. Korzekwa started at 7:22 pm on July 25th from Point Aggermore, Nova Scotia and took 8 hours 16 minutes to get to Indian Point New Brunswick. Then she set off in the other direction at was 3:38 am on the 26th and finished in Borden-Carlton, Prince Edward Island at 12:03 pm in 16 hours 41 minutes. "I succeeded at the 3 provinces portion, but I opted not to do the double crossing because of high waves and increasing winds in my face."

"I used this opportunity to raise money for the Good Shepherd Centres in Hamilton. They run a network of shelters and services for troubled youth, abused women and children, the dying, the mentally and physically challenged, the hungry and the homeless. They strive to support people through crisis and help them re-establish healthy and productive lives. I am personally very grateful to a great many staff at the Good Shepherd who have helped so many of my patients."
