Wendy Trehiou participated in La Grande Nag gie (The big swim) by the Jersey Swimming Club Polar Bear team last year.
Together with Ian Jones, Nick Dotter, Graeme Lowe, David le Clercq and Neil Faudemer, Trehiou traversed the 35.7-mile (57.4 km) distance from Saint-Malo to Jersey in 18 hours 9 minutes.
But Trehiou took matters into her own hands this summer. She replicated the journey solo in 24 hours 7 minutes to successfully complete the first crossing of this course.
It was Trehiou's second 24-hour swim after her celebrated 39 hour 9 minute two-way crossing of the English Channel in 2013.
