Christof Wandratsch Heading Back Across The Bodensee BY WOWSA

Courtesy of WOWSA, Huntington Beach, California.

Extreme/ice/marathon/channel/professional swimmer Christof "Wandi" Wandratsch from Haiming in Bavaria, Germany is back.

Soon after he became the first man to cross the lengthwise direction of the Bodensee, a 66 km swim in 20 hours 41 minutes in July 2013, Wandratsch said, "Never again."

But there are always various shades of meaning. Wandratsch is keeping to his word to never again swim the longer lengthwise direction, but he is going to attempt to swim the width and set a record on June 21st. "The width is just 12 km, between Romanshorn in Switzerland and Friedrichshafen in Germany." The record is currently held by fellow German Nathalie Pohl in 2 hours 50 minutes.

His attempt will begin tomorrow at 12 pm in Langenargen with an escort boat guiding him from Friedrichshafen to Romanshorn.
