in Canoe Slalom and at the course in Liptovský Mikuláš many top level paddlers
made their first strokes, including legendary canoeist Michal Martikan.
Legendary is also the race Tatra Slalom that will celebrate its 75th edition

“This competition started in 1949 and
is actually the oldest one organised without interruptions in the world and of
course in Europe. This is the flagship of Slovak Canoeing. High standard of our competition in the past
is binding us for the future. The conditions for canoe slalom will
significantly improve in Liptovský Mikuláš this year. We are looking to the day
when the new pumping system will be operational and used by all fans of canoe
slalom. Canoe Tatra Club welcomes all athletes coming this year to compete at
our race. We wish them all the best for this weekend,” said Alexander
Slafkovský senior, president of the Canoe Tatra Club.
