Athens in Greece and Tiblisi in Georgia will respectively host the Women’s and Men’s FINA Water Polo World League Super Finals from June 14-19 and June 26-July 1.
The Super Final is the very last stage
of the Water Polo World League, an annual tournament which gathers the world’s
best water polo teams.
Both tournaments will see eight teams
vie for the top honours ahead of the Olympic Games, a great way to measure
their level and strength against their international opponents given the very
few opportunities in the pandemic era.
The women’s tournament will be
highlighted by the participation of: Canada, Greece Hungary, Japan, Kazakhstan,
Russia, Spain and the USA. Schedule here.
And the men’s contest will see
Argentina, Georgia, Greece, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Montenegro and the USA
battle it out in Tiblisi. Schedule here.
Extensive coverage will be provided
for both tournaments by water polo expert, FINA Media Committee Member Russell
McKinnon. All games reports will be available on FINA website.
