Irvine, CA – June 17 – USA Water Polo
Men's Senior National Team Head Coach Dejan Udovicic has announced the roster
for the upcoming FINA World Championships starting Tuesday in Hungary. Udovicic
selected 13 athletes and two alternates for the competition that will begin in
Szeged, Hungary before later rounds advance to Budapest. Team USA has never won
a medal in World Championship play, taking ninth place at the most recent event
in 2019.
Team USA's roster will feature eight
returning athletes from the Tokyo Olympic Games roster and nine athletes with
World Championship experience. Two-time Olympians Alex Bowen and Ben Hallock
lead fellow World Championship returners in Hannes Daube, Matt Farmer, Drew
Holland, Max Irving, Ben Stevenson, Marko Vavic and Dylan Woodhead. Chase Dodd,
Jake Ehrhardt, Tommy Gruwell and Adrian Weinberg will make their World
Championship debut. 2016 Olympian Thomas Dunstan joins Tyler Abramson as
alternates.
The United States will open play on
July 21 against Serbia at 10:30am pt. They'll also meet Kazakhstan and
Australia to close out Group D action. Live streaming of all the games will be

Roster For 2022 FINA World Championship
Irvine, CA – June 17 – USA Water Polo
Women's Senior National Team Head Coach Adam Krikorian has announced the roster
for the upcoming FINA World Championships starting Monday in Hungary. Krikorian
selected 13 athletes and two alternates for the competition that will begin in
Debrecen, Hungary before later rounds advance to Budapest. Team USA has won the
last three World Championships (2015, 2017 & 2019) and six total in program
history, adding gold medals in 2003, 2007 and 2009.
Team USA boasts a roster featuring
seven returners from the Tokyo Olympic Games gold medal winning squad and eight
returning World Champions led by captain Maggie Steffens. Steffens is joined by
fellow returners Ashleigh Johnson, Maddie Musselman, Rachel Fattal, Stephania
Haralabidis, Kaleigh Gilchrist, Amanda Longan and Jordan Raney. Tara Prentice,
Ava Johnson, Ryann Neushul, Denise Mammolito and Bayley Weber will make their World
Championship debuts. Jewel Roemer and Emily Ausmus will serve as alternates.
The United States will open play on
June 20 against South Africa before meeting the Netherlands and Argentina to
