European Aquatics is delighted to
reveal further information about the “crucial” Energetics Seminar which will
see industry leaders address the impact of the current energy crisis on aquatic
facilities and organisations throughout the continent.
LEN President Antonio Silva will be
joined (on 13 February) by elite contributors from World Aquatics, EPSI
(European Platform for Sport Innovation), CEN (European Committee for
Standardisation) and a number of key member Federations.
As many within the community are
already aware, hundreds of pool facilities across Europe were unable to reopen
after suffering significant financial challenges during COVID-19 Pandemic.
The challenge of retaining those who
were able to remain open has intensified in the last year with the costs of
energy rising rapidly following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Some venues have reported operational
costs – including the heating of facilities – to have risen by around 200%.
“It is very important and crucial to
have these discussions,” states LEN President Antonio Silva.
“The seminar will help raise public
awareness of what people are facing now because of the closures and rising
costs, but it will also help us hopefully find innovative solutions.
Silva continued; “All of us who have
involvement with swimming pools are experiencing the same problems and it’s
vital we collaborate to share ideas about strategy and find solutions to lower
costs and keen venues operating.”
The webinar will focus on topics such
as ‘lobbying / communication strategies’, ‘collaboration and funding options’,
as well as the ‘sharing of knowledge and best practice’ among the LEN family.
Other areas also open for discussion
by the attending groups as detailed in the schedule below.
Those who still wish to register for
the webinar can do so via the following link:
