51st Trofeo Settecolli began at the Stadio del
Nuoto in Rome. Among
the most significant preliminary heats results of the first day, the event
record reached by the Dutch Inge Dekker in 100m butterfly with 58”02 (breaking
the record of 58"28 reached by Slovak Jemma Lowe in 2008); the best time
of Marco Orsi in 50m freestyle with 22”53 and in 50m backstroke with 28”52, and
the time of 4'09"82 of Hungarian champion Katinka Hosszu. Federica Pellegrini has no qualification in final A in 50m freestyle,
ranking eleventh with 25”92. In preliminary heats Swedish Sarah Sjoestroem
shines with 24"83 followed by Dutch Femke Heemskerk with 24"94 and by
Olympic champion Ranomi Kromowidjodjo with 25"07. The unique Italian
champion in final is Erika Ferraioli reaching the eighth time of 25"70. In
100m breaststroke Fabio Scozzoli is out of the best eight, still in full
rehabilitation after an injury and thirteenth with 1'02"69. The best time
is reached by Andrea Toniato with the German Marco Koch with 1'01"20.
In the other races the best times reached by Niccolò Bonacchi in 50m backstroke with 25"41, Gabriele Detti in 400m freestyle with 3'51"84, the Swedish Jennie Johansson in 100m breaststroke with 1'08"26, the Hungarian Bence Pulai in 100m butterfly with 52"93.
