La brasileña Nora Ronai, nacida en 1924, fue una de las atletas de mayor edad en el XIV Sudamericano Máster de Natación que concluyó ayer en el Centro Acuático Nacional (CAN), con un récord mundial establecido por la nadadora de 95 años. Hoy, la acción se traslada a las aguas abiertas.
Ronai nadó los 200 metros mariposa en 12’05”785, lo que constituye una nueva plusmarca mundial, categoría 95-99 años. Junto a su compatriota Anton Karl Biedermann, fueron los nadadores de mayor edad que participaron en el “Suda”, que ayer finalizó en la pileta.
En la última jornada, los medallistas de oro de clubes paraguayos fueron: Stefanía Piccardo, José Schaefer (50 metros libre, 20-24 años), Renato Prono (200 m pecho, 25-29), Alfredo Carrillo (50 m espalda, 40-44), Diana Correa (200 m mariposa, 45-49), Carlos Orihuela (200 m mariposa, 25-29), y Eduardo Carrillo (200 m mariposa, 35-39).
Finalizadas ayer las pruebas en piscina, hoy tendrán lugar las de aguas abiertas. Las distancias son de 1.500 y 3.000 metros, en ambas ramas.
La cita será a las 09:00 en el Club Deportivo de Puerto Sajonia.
El “Suda” reunió a cientos de nadadores de diez países de la región, y otros invitados como España, Estados Unidos, México y Panamá.
