Schwimm-Elite beginnt Olympiajahr in Luxembourg Vom 24. bis 26. Januar trifft sich zum 22. Mal die Elite des Schwimmsports in Luxemburg. Für internationale Top-Stars der Szene ist das Euro Meet 2020 gleichzeitig Auftakt in das Olympiajahr und ein erster Meilenstein auf dem Weg zu den Olympischen Spielen im Sommer in Tokio.
Hinter den Kulissen laufen die Vorbereitungen der Organisatoren bereits auf Hochtouren. So haben sich bereits 27 Teams aus neun Nationen angemeldet. Unter ihnen die finnische Brustschwimmerin Jenna Laukkanen, Kurzbahn-Europameisterin 2015 über 50 und 100m Brust und Jenny Mensing, Europameisterin 2012 über 100m Rücken aus Deutschland. Bei den Männern kommt mit Giedrius Titenis (Bronze EM 2014 über 200m Brust) ein alter Bekannter nach Luxemburg. Der Brustspezialist hat sich bereits 2014 mit Laurent Carnol um Medaillen und Rekorde beim Euro Meet duelliert.
