184 Athleten aus elf Luxemburger Vereinen werden im 25-Meter-Becken des Aquasud in Differdingen über 967 Einzel- und 44 Staffelstarts um Bestzeiten, Medaillen und Rekorde kämpfen.
Für die FLNS-Eliteschwimmer Raphaël Stacchiotti, Pit Brandenburger und Julien Henx sind die nationalen Titelkämpfe ein letzter Formtest vor den Kurzbahn-Europameisterschaften vom 4. bis 8. Dezember in Glasgow. Die Meisterschaften sind gleichzeitig die letzte Chance, sich für die kontinentalen Titelkämpfe zu qualifizieren. Vor Wochenfrist schrammten Max Mannes und Rémi Fabiani bei den belgischen Meisterschaften in Gent noch knapp an der Normzeit für Glasgow vorbei. Über 200m Freistil fehlte dem 21-Jährigen Mannes in 1:48,22 nur eine halbe Sekunde, Rèmi Fabiani blieb über 200m Rücken in 1:58,81 erstmals unter der Zwei-Minuten-Marke. Ihm fehlten winzige 37 Hundertstel.
An Konkurrenz wird es beiden im Kampf um das EM-Ticket nicht fehlen. Über 200m Freistil will Pit Brandenburger ein Wörtchen mitreden, über 200m Rücken will Raphaël Stacchiotti seinen Titel aus dem Vorjahr verteidigen. Mit weiteren Starts über 100, 200 und 400m Lagen, 100 Schmetterling und 200m Brust hat der 27-Jährige ein volles Programm.
Julien Henx will seine Meistertitel über 50m Freistil und 50m Schmetterling verteidigen, um sich eine gute Ausgangsposition für die EM in Glasgow zu sichern.
Traditionell besondere Spannung verspricht das 100m Freistilrennen. Wer schafft den Sprung unter die 50-Sekunden Marke: Pit Brandenburger, Max Mannes und Rémi Fabiani kämpfen um die Medaillen.
Auf den 400 und 800m Freistil sowie 400m Lagen wird wohl kein Weg an Lou Jominet vorbeiführen. Die 14-Jährige zeigte sich am vergangenen Wochenende in Gent mit neuen Altersklassenbestleistungen (4:21,70 / 8:56,55) bereits in Bestform. Auf den kürzeren Strecken peilt Routinier Jacqueline Banky über 50, 100, 200m Rücken und Freistil den Titel an. Die Schwestern Lena und Emma Peters zählen über die Freistil-, Schmetterling- und Lagenstrecken ebenfalls zum Favoritenkreis um die Medaillen.
Auf dem Programm der Meisterschaften stehen alle Einzelentscheidungen (17) sowie die Mixed-Staffeln über 4x50 Freistil und Lagen und die 4x100 Freistil- und Lagen-Staffel der Männer und Frauen. Die 50m-Strecken werden in Vorläufen und Finals in der offenen Klasse ausgetragen, alle anderen Strecken als Direktentscheidungen in der offenen Klasse und den Kategorien Juniors, Jeunes und Pupilles.
Angefeuert von der ganzen FLNS-Familie erhalten Sportler der Special Olympics Luxembourg am Sonntagnachmittag die Chance, ihr Können unter Beweis zu stellen.
Die Wettkämpfe beginnen jeweils um 9:30 und 16:00 Uhr, der Eintritt ist frei.
