Mit 20 Bestzeiten, fünf Altersklassenrekorden und acht Finalplätzen kehrte die achtköpfige Junioren-Auswahl der FLNS von den Belgischen Kurzbahn-Meisterschaften am 9.-10. November aus Gent zurück.
Lou Jominet stellte in der Altersklasse 14 neue Rekorde über die langen Freistilstrecken auf. Über 400m belegte sie in 4:21,70 im Finale Rang fünf. Über die doppelte Distanz wurde sie in 8:56,55 Vierte.
In der gleichen Altersklasse markierte Lena Peters als Vierte über 200m Schmetterling in 2:19,93 einen neuen Rekord. Ebenfalls über 200m Schmetterling verbesserte Joao Carnerio die Rekordmarke bei den 16-Jährigen auf 2:03,37 und wurde Dritter im Finale. Über 400m Lagen verbesserte er seine Bestzeit um fast acht Sekunden auf 4:26,66.
Rémi Fabiani unterbot über 200m Rücken in 1:58,81 erstmals die Zwei-Minuten-Marke und stellte damit einen neuen Altersklassenrekord bei den 18-Jährigen auf und gewann die Bronzemedaille. Im Finale über 100m Rücken schwamm er in 55,47 auf Rang fünf. Einen großen Leistungssprung zeigte er auch über 400m Freistil und schrammte in 4:00,15 nur knapp an der Vier-Minuten-Marke vorbei.
Yann Van Den Bossche belegte mit neuer Bestzeit von 28,97 über 50m Brust Rang drei. Über 200m Brust kam der 18-Jährige in 2:20,51 im Finale auf Rang fünf, im gleichen Rennen belegte Joao Carneiro Platz sieben.
Jacques Schmitz schraubte seine Bestzeit über 1500m Freistil auf 16:25,79, eine Verbesserung von 45 Sekunden.
Ralph Daleiden Ciuferri verbesserte sich über 200m Schmetterling von 2:16,72 auf 2:12,83 und belegte Rang 15.
Bob Sauber stellte über 400m Freistil in 4:11,93 eine neue persönliche Bestzeit auf.
