WATER POLO USA Cal Wins NCAA Men's Championship Pomona-Pitzer Claims USAWP Men's Division III Title



Los Angeles, CA/Claremont, CA - December 5 - It was a thrilling day of water polo as two collegiate champions were crowned. At UCLA an epic battle between USC and California came down to the wire with the Bears winning 13-12 to earn their first title since 2016 and 15th in program history. Nikos Delagrammatikas scored the game-winner late in the fourth. Tournament MVP Nikos Papanikolaou scored twice and delivered a final field block as time expired to halt a last chance from USC. At Pomona-Pitzer, the Sagehens edged Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in overtime 13-12 to win their first Division III men's title. Benjamin Sasaki scored four goals while Kellan Grant recorded 17 saves in net in the victory. In the third place match it was Johns Hopkins edging MIT 11-10.
