The finalists of the 2021 ECA Canoe Freestyle European Championships in France are known



We have all the finalists in the five events of the 2021 ECA Canoe Freestyle European Championships on the 2024 Olympic course in Vaires-sur-Marne. In the semifinal stage David McClure, Ottilie Robinson – Shaw, Toby Marlow and Ida Wellensiek received the highest scores in their respective events.

David McClure from Ireland collected 1166.67 points to win the semifinal stage of men’s kayak surface event at European Championships in France. Joaquim Fontane I Maso from Spain was close with a total score of 1156.67, and Tom Dolle (FRA) had 1136.67 points at the end of the competition day. Sebastien Debred (FRA) and Tomasz Czaplicki (POL) also qualified to Saturday’s final.

In women’s senior kayak surface event two-time junior World Champion Ottilie Robinson – Shaw showed the best moves of the day. With a total of 430.00 points she progressed easily to the final. Aoife Hanrahan (IRL), Zofia Tula (POL), Mireia Serres Segarra and Nuria Fontane I Maso (both ESP) will also fight for the European champion titles on Saturday.

Germany will have three athletes fighting for the medals in women’s junior kayak surface event. Ida Wellensiek, Nele Barwich and Merle Hauser all qualified to the final stage of the championships from the semifinals as well as Jennifer Leal (GBR) and Julie Huet (FRA).

Also three Germans advanced to the top five in men’s junior kayak surface event. Paul Ernst, Tim Rees and Leon Jorel Stoermer will try to do their best in the final stage of the competition in Vaires-sur-Marne. Following the semifinal performance and the highest score of the day Toby Marlow from Great Britain will try to repeat the moves also on Saturday and Unai Silva Fores from Spain is also one of the finalists.

Only two nations will be represented in canoe decked surface. Sebastien Devred, Tom Dolle and Jean-Yves Moustrou will try to keep the title in host country France. But they will face tough competition in two British athletes James Ibbotson and Matthew Stephenson.

On Saturday, the finals will start at 12.30 with junior women’s kayak surface final, followed by men’s junior kayak surface event, canoe decked surface, senior women’s kayak surface and senior men’s kayak surface final.
