Spain wins Women's Water Polo World Junior Championships crown


 

FINA WOMEN’S WATER POLO WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS 2021

Spain triumphed tonight in Netanya (ISR) in the final match of the FINA Women’s Water Polo World Junior Championships to claim the gold medal at stake. The Spanish girls defeated Greece 10-5, despite both teams scoring the same number of goals in the third and fourth quarters (5-1, 1-0, 3-3, 1-1).

Hungary clinched the bronze by beating Italy 12-10 (3-3, 4-4, 1-1, 4-2).

Russia won the two previous editions of the World Junior Championships in Funchal (POR) in 2019 and in Volos (GRE) in 2017 respectively.
