The new season of World Triathlon will see the streaming platform and home of multisport coverage, TriathlonLIVE, delivered in partnership with Texaco. The agreement builds on last year’s tie-in with Havoline, during which World Triathlon was able to bring more live coverage to more people than ever before, alongside a host of exclusive features and interviews, and a unique archive reaching back through 30 years of world-class racing.
“After its growth and success last year, we are thrilled that World Triathlon’s OTT platform is able to go one step further in such a huge year for our sport. Working in conjunction with a global brand like Texaco means we will be able to broaden TriathlonLIVE’s reach and scope even further. Last season we opened new doors in terms of our capacity to deliver live coverage not just from the World Series but from World Cups and beyond. This year our ambitions are to go beyond once again in terms of the quality and quantity of our content,” said ITU President and IOC member Marisol Casado.
As well as in-house production of a host of 2019 World Cups and a first-ever live broadcast out of China from the Chengdu World Cup, the channel’s revamp at the start of last year ensured World Triathlon was able to reach agreements to show last year’s XTERRA World Championships, SuperLeague and Norseman events, taking the total number of events covered to 96. With the Tokyo Olympic Games on the horizon, the race for qualification across the coming months ensures that 2020 will be another crucial year on the platform.

After the postponement of WTS Abu Dhabi, the World Triathlon Series will get underway in Bermuda on 18 April. Before then, with Tokyo 2020 Olympic qualification points on the line, World Cups in Mooloolaba, Sarasota, New Plymouth and Brasilia will set the tone for an unmissable start to the new season, with all the live action streamed exclusively on TriathlonLIVE.tv.
This year, TriathlonLIVE will once again feature all of the action from the World Triathlon Series and the Edmonton Grand Final World Championship decider, as well as the World Paratriathlon Series events and the Paratriathlon World Championships, the Almere Multisport World Championships and a full schedule of World Cups. Viewers will be able to watch even more events from the wider triathlon family, including some Continental Cups and events, the Norseman, XTERRA World Championships, SuperLeague and Challenge Roth.
