USA SWIMMING - 2023 Phillips 66 National Championships Comes to Indianapolis

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The 2023 Phillips 66 National Championships will take place June 27-July 1 at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis. From Wednesday through Saturday, prelims will begin at 10 a.m. ET with finals at 7 p.m. ET.

• Return of the Champions: Ten gold medalists from 2022’s World Championships in Budapest, Hungary will be competing for a chance to defend their titles this year in Fukuoka, Japan.

• Record Setters: Over the 34 events to be contested, 21 American record holders are the top or second seed in their respective events. Of those 21 American record holders, the current world record holder is competing in five of them.

• Ledecky and Kalisz Go for Six: Katie Ledecky and Chase Kalisz have competed in every World Championships since 2013, a total of five competitions. If these athletes qualify for this year’s team, they will hold the rare distinction of becoming the only American swimmers to have ever accomplished this feat. Ledecky and Kalisz are each entered in four events in Indianapolis.

• Opportunities Internationally Abound: In total, there will be 154 roster spots available on the various teams selected at the National Championships. Never has USA Swimming selected athletes for so many teams at one meet. In all, there are 180 athletes on the National Team and National Junior Teams combined. This meet is also an excellent opportunity for athletes to earn their 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Swimming qualifying times.

• World Championships First: The only team selected on site at this event will be the swimmers competing at the World Aquatics Championships next month in Fukuoka, Japan. The rosters for the World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships, the LEN U23 Championships and the Pan American Games will be released at a later date.
