With 50 days to go before the
inaugural European Under 23 Swimming Championships, tickets are now on sale.
The championships will be held from
August 11-13, 2023, at The Sport Ireland: National Aquatic Centre in Dublin,
and athletes aged 19-23 (born in the years 2000-2004) will be eligible to
compete.
The competition aims to help athletes
make the leap between the Junior Championships and their countries’ senior
teams. At this first edition each federation can enter up to one swimmer aged
14-18 (born 2005-2009) per event among four allowed entries per country in each
individual race.
LEN President Antonio Silva,
currently attending the Aquatic Events at the European Games, paid tribute to
the organisers: “With only 50 days to go before this exciting new event, I want
to give a big thanks to Swim Ireland’s CEO, Sarah Keane, and her very
professional team for all they are doing. Sport Ireland and Swim Ireland have
worked hard on venue refurbishment, and promotion is going well. We are all
excited to see how this new style, three-day meeting will appeal to
participants and spectators. We have gone for a non-traditional format with
sports presentation, medal ceremonies and post-race interviews changed to
create a faster, more dynamic environment that appeals to younger audiences. We
are confident that this ticket drive leads to sold out sessions and creates a
great atmosphere to inspire our athletes. ”
Tickets are available as single
passes or 3 day (with discount available) and with adult and U18 prices. For
