The U.S. Open Water National Team
recently returned from the World Aquatics Open Water World Cup, held May 20-21
in Golfo Aranci, Italy.
This World Cup was the final step for
athletes looking to qualify for the World Aquatics Open Water Championships
this summer in Fukuoka, Japan, as well as a step toward potential qualification
for the Olympic Games in 2024.
As the top American finishers in the
10K event at this World Cup, Mariah Denigan (Jacksonville, Fla./University of
Florida) and Joey Tepper (Egg Harbor Township, N.J./University of Tennessee)
punched their tickets to Fukuoka with their sixth- and 10th-place finishes
respectively.

The U.S. Mixed 4x1500m team of
Denigan, Dylan Gravley, McMahon and Tepper finished in fourth place in a time

secured their spots on the team for World Championships with wins at the 2023
Open Water National Championships 10K in April.
