FLNS Luxembourg - Doppelpack bei der Schwimm-EM in Glasgow

Am vorletzten Tag der Schwimm-Europameisterschaft in Glasgow lieferte das FLNS-Team Landesrekorde im Doppelpack. Im Fokus standen die Vorläufe über 50m Schmetterling, 100m Freistil und 100m Lagen der Männer sowie die 200m Freistil der Frauen.  
Julien Henx markierte im Schmetterlingssprint nach 23,26 Sekunden einen neuen Landesrekord und verbesserte die alte Bestmarke um fünf Hundertstel. Im Gesamtklassement rangiert er damit auf Platz 23, verpasste leider das Halbfinale um winzige 1,6 Zehntel. “Auf der einen Seite freue mich natürlich über die Bestzeit, auf der anderen Seite bin ich enttäuscht, das Halbfinale so knapp verpasst zu haben.” 
Das FLNS-interne Duell im presitgeträchtigen 100m-Freistil-Rennen entschied Max Mannes für sich. Der 22-Jährige verwies mit deutlicher Bestzeit von 49,29 Sekunden und Gesamtrang 51 den Youngster Rémi Fabiani (50,00) und Pit Brandenburger (50,24) auf die Plätze 63 bzw. 65 unter 77 Konkurrenten.
Monique Olivier startete im dritten von fünf Vorläufen über 200m Freistil. Die 21-Jährige forcierte das Rennen von Beginn an und wurde in 1:58,36 mit einer neuen Bestzeit,  Landesrekord und Rang 22 (von 48) belohnt. “Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Rennen, das ist eine perfekte Motivation für die 400m morgen. Meine Eltern und Freunde aus Edinburgh waren extra angereist, es war schon ein bisschen Druck da, aber ich habe geliefert” freute sich die Sportstudentin.
Raphaël Stacchiotti erreichte über 100m Lagen nach 54,97 Sekunden auf Rang 36 ins Ziel. “Es ging auch heute gar nix, meine Beine waren schwer, kaum Kraft in den Armen, das war einfach schlecht.”
