Dansk rekord og juniorrekord, da seks svømmere kvalificerede sig til EM-finaler.
De danske landsholdsvømmere har for alvor fundet farten ved EM Kortbane, der i disse dage afholdes i Glasgow. Indtil nu er det blevet til fire EM-medaljer – alle er bronze – og formiddagens præstationer tyder på, at flere kan være på vej.
I herrernes 100 meter fri leverede Mathias Zander Rysgaard fra Hørsholm Svømmeforening / NTC en sand mandfolkepræstation. Med tiden 47.37 og en personlig rekord på 0,36 sekunder buldrede Mathias videre til semifinalerne som nummer 10. Tiden er tilmed dansk rekord på distancen, idet Mathias forbedrer Jacob Andkjærs tidligere rekord fra 2007 med 0,08 sekunder!
Juniorsvømmer Rasmus Nickelsen fra Herlev Svømning / NTC præsterede også flot i sit løb på 50 meter butterfly. Den unge sprinter forbedrede sin personlige rekord på distancen med 0,22 sekunder, hvilket er ny dansk juniorrekord med samme margin. Rasmus er i tiden 23.01 videre til sin første individuelle EM-semifinale i 10. hurtigste tid.
I kvindernes 50 meter rygcrawl kvalificerede to danske rygcrawlere sig til semifinalerne. Julie Kepp Jensen fra A6 / NTC samt Victoria Bierre fra Herlev Svømning / NTC svømmede sig videre som henholdsvis nummer 4 og 14.
To kvindelige butterflysvømmere svømmede sig også sikkert videre til semifinalerne på 100 meter butterfly. Emilie Beckmann fra Tune IF / GTI / NTC – der vandt EM-bronze på 50-meteren i torsdags – er videre i 3. hurtigste tid, mens Caroline Erichsen fra Sigma Swim Birkerød er videre som nummer 10.
Gårsdagens EM-finalist på 200 meter butterfly Helena Rosendahl Bach fra Holstebro SvømmeClub står efter formiddagens løb som 2. reserve i kvindernes 200 meter fri. Det samme gør hendes landsholdkammerart Clara Rybek-Andersen fra Gentofte Svømmeklub i kvindernes 200 meter medley.
Skulle der opstå pludselige finaleafmeldinger i et af de to løb, får danskerne mulighed for at deltage i aftenens EM-finaler.
