Congratulations to all our fantastic marathon swimmers FINA President Captain Husain Al-Musallam's message

Congratulations to all our fantastic marathon swimmers who showcased the very best of our sport over two days of fierce competition here in Tokyo.

We know that the road to Tokyo 2020 has been very challenging but that did not prevent you from delivering excellent performances and thrilling races at the Games.

You kept us entertained until the very last moments and you can all be proud of what you have achieved. Your displays of extraordinary endurance always inspire us, but here at the Odaiba Marine Park they were even more impactful as they symbolised the resilience and determination of the Aquatics family.

I was grateful to have the chance to meet with many of you in Tokyo and I very much look forward to working with you over the coming days, months and years to take our great sport forward.

In the meantime, I am sure you will join us in wishing our athletes in Diving, Artistic Swimming and Water Polo the very best of luck over the remaining days.

Have a safe trip home and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

FINA President Captain HUSAIN AL MUSALLAM
