Four ECA Canoe Slalom Cups coming up this weekend

It is a busy weekend ahead of canoe slalom paddlers. Two ECA Junior Canoe Slalom Cups are on in Czech Republic and two ECA Open Canoe Slalom Cup races in Slovenia. Senior races from Ljubljana will be live also on Canoe Europe Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/CanoeEurope

The only two races in this year’s edition of ECA Open Canoe Slalom Cup series will be held in Ljubljana – Tacen on 15th and 16th August. Due to Covid-19 and restrictions with entry to Slovenia (mandatory 14 day quarantine) unfortunately there will not be a lot of international participation, but the races will still offer a lot of excitement as the races will serve as first two selection races for Slovenian national team (the result from heats will count for selection races). Besides Slovenian paddlers there will also be competitors from Germany (including Olympic medallist Hannes Aigner), USA, France and Japan on the start.

The start of heats on Saturday and Sunday is scheduled for 10:00 and finals on both days will follow at 13:00. The following number of boats will advance from heats to the final: 9 WC1, 10, MC1, 10 WK1, 16 MK1.   

Finals will be streamed live on the Website of Slovenian National television (https://4d.rtvslo.si/zivo/tvmmc) and on Youtube channel of Canoe Federation of Slovenia (https://www.youtube.com/user/kajakzveza) and European Canoe Association (https://www.youtube.com/CanoeEurope).

The third venue in the 2020 edition of the ECA Junior Canoe Slalom Cup series is Roudnice, Czech Republic, where two races will be held this Saturday and Sunday. The competition programme on both days will start at 9:00.
