The passion of the Irish swimming community for open water swimming is clearly obvious at their Irish Long Distance Swimming Championship 17k & 25K that serves as a National Championship event of Swim Ireland.
The 2015 results of the Lough Erne National Championshipsjust recently completed in Fermanagh, Northern Ireland as reported by the ILDSA are as follows:
Male 25 km
1. Aidan Hickey (Phoenix Swim Club) 6:59:58
2. James Scallon (NAC Masters) 8:55:49
Male 17 km
1. Paul Manning (ILDSA) 4:26:22
2. Jody Clarke (Dublin Swim Club) 4:58:01
3. Jon Glover (Lecale) 5:07:45
Female 17 km
1. Nancy Edmead (Clonakilty Penguins) 4:04:15
2. Lynsey Dunne (ILDSA) 4:54:06
