Double Victory For Many On A Single Crossing

Courtesy of WOWSAHuntington Beach, California.

Maura Twomey, originally from Ireland but living in Boston, took 16 hours 23 minutes to realize her dream of crossing the English Channel this week. She is very sore and tired after her achievement, but doubly happy for her crossing was a two-time victory.

She had set a personal fundraising goal of €20,000 to support improved facilities and services for children with Cystic Fibrosis at Cork University Hospital in Ireland.

By the date of her crossing, she had raised €22,595.08 for Build4Lifes (see here). "My grandnephew Rian lives with the challenge of Cystic Fibrosis and 100% of the funds go towards improved services for Rian and his fellow colleagues at Cork University Hospital."
